Talk to Support (Juma)

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At KongoRiver Safaris, we believe that tourism should not only provide unforgettable experiences but also contribute positively to the environment and local communities. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to share how we integrate eco-conscious practices into our tours and operations.

Working with Local Guides and Communities

We prioritize working with local tour guides and businesses to ensure that our operations benefit the people who call these destinations home. For example, we partner with local restaurants for our food tours, allowing visitors to savor authentic, locally-prepared meals while supporting small businesses. Additionally, we offer unique experiences such as visits to artisan workshops, where guests can create their own African sandals under the guidance of skilled craftsmen.hentic meals while supporting small businesses.

Our Environmental Code of Conduct

To protect the natural beauty of Diani and beyond, we adhere to a strict code of conduct. For instance, we actively discourage the harmful practice of killing sea urchins to feed fish—a practice that disrupts marine ecosystems. Our guides lead by example, educating both tourists and fellow operators on the importance of preserving marine life. We also encourage our guests to use reusable water bottles to help reduce plastic waste, a growing concern in tourist hotspots.

“Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. While we are proud of the steps we’ve taken, we know there is always more to do. By choosing KongoRiver Safaris, you become a part of this journey, helping to protect our planet and support local communities.”
